  1. What Cohen does is not to get right-wing people on his side, but rather to expose them for who they are to the rest of us. When all those ambivalent Trump supporters from 2016 see how horrible Trump's hard-core supporters are, maybe they will be less likely to vote for Trump again. Watch the movie Borat; it exposes how right-wing Americans think (and how bad they truly are) when their guard is down.
