The reason this matters is because Republicans including Trump keep claiming that DOJ is not being fair in treating Trump worse than Biden. Now that Pence did pretty much the same thing as Biden, Pence will not be facing prosecution either which will blow the false Republican claims out of the water. In the end, the Trump case stands alone as it should after he allegedly maliciously broke multiple laws.
