  1. I think the secretary of state should recuse when they are running for office. Brian Kemp successfully purged voter rolls before he became governor of Georgia. However, I think the recusals should be codified into law first, so that it does not matter which party or person is secretary of state; they would be obligated by law to recuse in elections where they themselves are on the ballot.
