  1. History repeats itself. In 2009-2010, Dems held majorities in both houses with a supermajority in the Senate, and Obama as president. Conservative Dems obstructed. Eventually, conservative Dems got a lot of what they wanted and bills which did pass were watered down. A lot of the pain in passing Obamacare came from conservative Dems. Then those same conservative Dems almost all got voted out in 2010 and later years, with Republicans taking back the majorities of both houses.
