  1. A few years ago, I paid a $75 copay for a 30-second appointment where the doctor told me everything was OK. It was after my first colonoscopy. (Be sure to get colonoscopies; colon cancer is treatable when detected early.) The doctor's office scheduled a follow-up appointment without asking me what time, for 11 pm. I had to call severals time to get through to them, so they could admit it was really 11 am. They complained to me about their staffing shortages as if that were my fault. When I went to the appointment, they would not even take a credit card for the $75 copay without charging an extra $5 fee! Luckily, they took my debit card since I did not have $75 in cash. Horrible doctor's office.
