  1. Yes, voting out the Speaker mid-session, especially at the hands of his own party, is unusual. Normally, the House Speaker resigns after inviting a veteran, giving him a standing ovation, and only then realizing that he had been a Nazi. If a Republican Speaker did that, he would think that was a good thing and refuse to go.
