  1. Republicans would never be able to survive not raising the debt ceiling and making the USA default on its loans. But, you say, many of these same Republicans got away with trying to overthrow the government. Yes, but here is the difference. Corporations would still be needed and thrive with an overthrown government. However, those corporations would be severely hurt if the country defaulted on its loans and entered an economic depression. Once that happened, corporate contributions (really bribes) to Republicans would all dry up.
