  1. In early 2016, I got yelled at by a friend in public because I was voting for Bernie Sanders in the 2016 primary. My friend blamed me for George W. Bush becoming president because I had voted for Ralph Nader. I lived in Texas in 2000. My vote would not have stopped George W. Bush from winning his home state of Texas. My then-friend yelled at me that I must vote for Hillary in 2016 because she could defeat Trump. Absurd. I knew the Democratic Party was bad then. It is worse now. I am done with the Democrats. They never change. They refuse to change.

  2.  @nicolasolton  I never vote for Republicans. I vote for third party and independent candidates, especially in the local races. I am planning on leaving the USA, again. I left 2018-2020, but could not renew immigration where I was so I had to come back. I am lucky because I have the means to move, with passive income so I won't need a work permit there. It's not very easy to move to another country for most people.

  3. This isn't just about diversity for diversity's sake. With an average of 70% of the players being Black, it seems like having Black head coaches and Black owners would make those 70% of players more comfortable and would result in them playing better. Having a head coach who knows what you have been through would do a lot to make these players feel accepted and valued. That should improve the level of play and bring in more money to the team. Update: Wow! So many stupid f'ing trolls on here. Trolls have no lives and nobody likes them. That is why they come on here where they cry for the attention they so desperately crave. Trolls have nothing to contribute of any value.

  4. I am so sick of the Johnny Depp case. It is a dispute between two wealthy celebrities. That does not affect my life one bit. All I saw on the broadcast news this morning were Johnny Depp and the Queen. We don't have a queen. They won't even say Britain's queen. It's like the TV actors reading the news are not even aware that our forefathers fought against the British monarchy.

  6.  @nicolasolton  The Netherlands. It was a lot easier under the Dutch American Friendship Treaty. That allowed me to live there for 2 years. I did not even have to get an immigration lawyer. But then I was not able to meet the conditions to renew immigration there, so I had to come back to the USA.

  9. I will probably get a lot of criticism for writing this. I can no longer vote for Democrats now that the Democratic Party including Biden and Harris both support and are complicit in genocide. Why won't Harris meet with you? Because she does not care. I live in a solid blue state, so my vote will not affect who becomes president. But my votes could very well affect who wins in my House district as well as state and local races. I am done with the Democratic Party. The Democratic Party has lost its way.

  15. You can compare Joe Biden to Obama, Clinton, or Johnson. But none of them presided over a democracy more threatened existentially at any time since the Civil War. Joe Biden has failed to get voting rights passed because he could not get the Democrats in the senate to agree to waive the filibuster to do so. If Republicans win back control and institute fascism, then it does not matter much in the long term how Joe Biden did when he failed to preserve the democratic form of government the USA has enjoyed for so long.

Not one indictment against Donald Trump nor any member of his inner circle has been filed in direct response to the attempted coup. Everyone should quarantine and go to the hospital when they get sick, especially children who have no choice being born to stupid parents. But I do not understand why grown adults who don't trust doctors and science about vaccines will then go to hospitals when they get sick from these diseases.   19. Any problems with the Democratic Party get amplified to the extreme by the NY machine. When I lived there in 09, Dems held the gov. and both houses of the legislature. Two "Dems" in the state Senate sided with Repubs in a power grab to flip control to the Repubs. One of the two, Hiram Monserrate, rejoined Dem caucus leading to 31-31 tie. With no Lt. Gov. after Spitzer resigned, deadlock until other "Dem" switched back. "Dem" Monserrate voted down same-sex marriage, too immoral. He was convicted of beating up his girlfriend and was expelled. 2012, Monserrate pleaded guilty to federal charges of corruption and spent 21 months in prison. Total f'ing sh*tshow. Update: the Dem NYS Senate leader Monserrate helped kick out, Malcolm Smith, was also convicted on federal corruption charges and was sentenced to 7 years in prison.

  23. This is such a great interview, especially with Naomi Klein's background as a Jewish woman commenting on how Israel is tying the October 7 attacks to the Holocaust. Whenever I see what Israel is doing to the Palestinian people, I see Israel as taking the path of Nazi Germany. But to the people only seeing the pro-Israel propaganda, that is flipped on its head. Everyone should watch this video. Very informative.

  24. Mitch McConnell was able to arm-twist Republican senators (e.g. Susan Collins) into confirming alleged sexual predator Brett Kavanaugh to a lifetime appointment to the supreme court. Chuck Schumer cannot even get Kyrsten Sinema to suspend the filibuster just to pass vital legislation protecting our democracy from authoritarian fascists in the Republican party.   29. I saw this on PBS this morning. Ta-Nehisi Coates is great. I get that he does not want to put the focus on himself, but instead on the genocide and segregation in Gaza. However, he sort of let CBS This Morning's Tony Dokoupil off the hook. Tony Dokoupil compared Ta-Nehisi Coates to a radical muslim suicide bomber!!! WTF? Tony Dokoupil is a racist, Islamaphobic, genocidal liar who should be fired.

  30. I saw it this morning. Definitely worth watching. It covers the earlier parts of Trump's career. Parts of it are fictionalized. I wonder which, but I can imagine Trump doing everything in this movie. Very good acting. Good story. The only thing I did not like so much was the handheld camera effect, think "NYPD Blue". I wish they had just used regular steady cameras. Other than that, it kept my attention until the end.
