If you are in the USA, contact your members of congress. They say they want to hold big tech accountable, but unfortunately I think like most things in American politics, that is just talk.

I cannot wait to run Gentoo on a RISC-V multicore laptop. BTW, IBM is evil.

Really stupid that GNOME removed max/min buttons from the window titlebar. You had to install a new package just to get the option to enable them. I have been a KDE user since ~2002 when I started running Linux as my daily OS. I was upset when KDE removed the Cover Flow task switcher animation! KDE later added that back. Getting rid of the max/min buttons is so stupid. What's next? GNOME gets rid of the mouse cursor? Sense where the mouse is...

Correction: "It's" should be "Its" in the title. "Window Maker: A Window Manager Ahead of Its Time" "It's is a contraction for "It is". "Its" is a possessive pronoun. To test which one to use, expand the contraction. "A Window Manager Ahead Of It Is Time" does not make any sense.

Nice video. Fortunately, installing Linux will not turn your ASUS computer into an HP.

I back up my CD collection into .flac files because they are lossless. I encode them into .opus files because they are higher quality (than mp3) lossy compressed and have smaller file sizes. I play back my music collection of .opus files with the VLC player on my Android phone. I like FLAC and OPUS because they are open source and royalty-free. Tip: do not convert from one lossy format to another. Audio quality may greatly suffer when you do that.

Very nice comparison. It would be worthwhile, although take a lot more time and effort, to take an original video with two different cameras at the same time, one at low res and one at the higher res. Then compare the upscaled low-res video with the original high-res one.

Armbian? I know it's still early for the RISC-V desktop. I guess RISC-Vbian ("risc-five-bian") does not roll off the tongue.

Thanks for making this video. I saw a similar video several months ago from a supposed tech channel I used to subscribe to. But then that other guy started using his "tech" channel to promote his far-right-wing conspiracy theories. It is nice to have a real tech channel which does not promote political views.

The nvme ssd got a read rate of 608.97 MB/sec. In comparison, my nvme ssd on my AMD-based Framework 13 running Gentoo Linux got a read rate of 1813.78 MB/sec. I cannot wait to get a RISC-V cpu in my Framework, but I will wait until there is hopefully a board with socketed ram and storage, and near-desktop speeds.

"We've got a lot of useful Android apps. Facebook, Spotify, Instagram, Twitter..." Yes, but now list some useful ones!

Nice video. The "Disks" graphical utility is a Gnome app. If you have KDE or some other desktop installed, you probably won't see the "Disks" app. You can use KDE Partition Manager, but it is more advanced and is similar to GParted from Gnome. I noticed you don't have a swap partition. I assume you have something else to do swapping. I prefer ZFS because it robust and has features like native encryption, snapshots, and deduplication (don't ever use that!).

I could use this. Not that I do much audio editing. But because I find myself writing "ASS ASS ASS..." a lot. (sorry) Seriously, it looks like something a company made.
