@Arman-tm1kz agreed, My brother is also a mechanic for Toyota and he was telling me a new tundra came in for that recall and the engine that was sent from Toyota for the replacement was also no good. He says the highlander/RAV4 (non hybrid) come in for transmission issues often. He said the Corollas are solid and rarely visit for issues.

When I got my 09’ Sentra from my work after it was traded in, it was well maintained and I told myself I was going to continue keeping it in good shape so it would last me a while. It now has almost 150k mi and I get the CVT fluid changed every 15-20k, oil changed every 6k. I’ve replaced a few parts like the alternator and front struts but that’s it. I remember last year a local mechanic was selling his one owner 04’ Camry SE V6 that was in fantastic shape with 240k mi. I was going to buy it, but I’ve heard about oil sludge issues with older Toyota V6’s and that kinda scared me away. Kinda regret buying it tho!

My brother was telling me the dealership he works at just retired their 2nd generation sienna shuttle van with 305k mi. I kinda wanna buy it and see how far it’ll go before something major breaks lol.

We had a 2013 Corolla S 5 speed traded in at my work with the 1.8L. Has 124k mi has had the maintenance done at our local Toyota dealer. I’m thinking of buying it for around $3500. But we also recently had a 2005 Toyota Solara V6 traded in too, has 140k mi and is in good shape. Not sure on a price. Hard to decide. I currently have a 2009 Sentra CVT which has been surprisingly reliable but I’m kinda over it lol.
