Who cares if it sounds like a diesel at idle. The 2.0T is a great engine with good torque.
25
One of the only luxury cars I'd buy used...
22
Here in Canada the LX comes with power windows, locks, keyless entry, leather wrapped wheel and shifter, heated seats and steering wheel, plus everything else... and it's a really good car.. I've driven a lot of the hatchbacks, and they ride fine, the power delivery is good for a small car, these so called reviewers are the worst, I mean they go from reviewing washing machines to cars? Come on.
10
Literally all consumer reports cares about is safety features, I think it's getting a little ridiculous.
10
I've driven the 2019's a lot, and they are really nice. I'm impressed at how quiet the 2.0T is, and the acceleration is impressive too. The interior may be a bit dated but it still feels nice. The only annoyance for me is you have to shut the doors rather hard otherwise they won't close all the way..
10
I noticed how they mentioned changing the radio station on the touch screen can be hard, but I'm 99 percent sure you can change it from the steering wheel audio controls, my brother 2005 Focus can do that so I know this Civic can too.
9
Love the design.
8
It's kinda ugly but I also kinda like it.
8
J W3810 yeah, gotta love that plastic interior and not to mention it'll probably be a recall king in the coming years. Only upside to it, is it's nice 3.6 V6.
8
I already know what people are gonna say... but I'd rather just get a top trim Kia Sorento SXL .. has all the features that this would have and is cheaper.
7
I drive these every day at work, usually just the 4 cylinders, and I love them, the interiors feel very nice, love the heated seats and steering wheel, plus they have 4 way power lumbar even on the non power cloth seats. This Kia doesn't need all, those safety features, keep your eyes on the road be alert, and drive defensively and it will be fine.
7
I used to really only read these guys, but then I realized all they do is complain.. oh she steering wheel doesn't come far enough out.. who gives a fuck? Move the seat up then. Thank god i switched over to reading motor trend and car and driver. These guys need to stick to reviewing refrigerators and iPhones.
6
Oh no! I'll have trouble finding the button that shuts the trunk? How about take the fucking 1 second and use your hand to shut it? Consumer reports are a bunch of cry babies.
6
I had the exact same Cruze as a rental (2017) even in the same colour, for about a month when my last car was totalled in an accident, and I really liked it, it was peppy, comfortable, features were nice, I'm a pretty aggressive driver but I average 38.9 mpg and that's with city and highway driving. On just highway driving I averaged over 40 mpg. If I was in the market for a compact sedan I'd choose between this and an Elantra.
6
I've personally driven a lot of new vehicles with the active safety equipment and I find most of it really annoying, the back up camera is handy when backing into a space and but other then that, the blind spot stuff, collision warning, rear cross traffic alert, etc are all annoying and useless to someone who's a good driver like me.
6
If people had driving knowledge than those safety feature shouldn't need to be standard.
6
I'd actually buy one, the design isn't too bad.
5
Literally all consumer reports cares about is advanced safety features, good drivers don't need them.
5
Most good drivers not need a "back-up camera" and "blind spot monitoring" and most driver who aren't lazy don't need a power lift gate.

My 2003 Honda Civic NEVER got a notice saying that it had a recall. I went into my Honda dealer and they said it needed both airbags replaced. Kind of scary actually that vehicles now are so defective and filled with recalls. My grandma has a 1992 Chevrolet Lumina and has never had a recall on it. My mom has a 96' Taurus wagon with 320,000 kilometres and has never had a recall or any major issues. OLD CARS FOR THE WIN!
4
I love the VW, but the outback is such a great Wagon, I see a ton of them around where I live, seem to be reliable as well. I'd love a beige one.
4
Volvo should bring back the XC70 cross country, by far the best SUV wannabe station wagon.
3
I find is so pathetic that drivers have such little skill these days they need all of those 'safety' features in their vehicles like lane assist, pre-collision warning, blind spot, here's an idea, shoulder check, stay in your lane, and don't be distracted and you won't have to worry about all of those dumb features.
3
Did subaru share its exterior design with the Toyota Highlander? It looks very similar to me, but this is still pretty nice.
3
Piece of garbage.
3
It looks like a cheap Volvo S60
2
Malcolm Baxter really? Hmm. I had a rental Cruze for about a month and it was the exact opposite for me, I thought acceleration was very adequate and I never really noticed any turbo lag. Only thing that would keep me from buying one is the horrible interior build quality.
2
blainne2012 my friend owned a 2011 (first year of redesign) and it has 160,000 miles and no engine or transmission issues. I don't even need a minivan but I still want one.
2
It looks like shit, but that's my opinion, the interior is nice but the exterior looks dated.
2
Silent Refusal until you have to see that hideous front fascia.
2
I drove these all the time from the base models to the Limited V6 and trail hawk versions, I personally think it rides nicely, is comfortable, but the transmission, damn it's bad, I also feel like it limits the performance of the V6, it's a shame actually, because I like them... but I'd rather just buy a Kia Sportage EX.
2
I know this video is old, but holy shit. "The speedometer is hard to read" umm I'm not sure how it's hard to read/see .. unless he's blind.. he also complains about the controls, if you're not a complete imbecile then you'd very quickly remember where the controls are and wouldn't have to glance down while driving, he's testing a base cayenne and complains about the braking performance? Come on. Seriously. I'm thinking of buying a newer Cayenne with the rare 6 speed manual.
2
I'd much rather a Volvo S90, even though there's some clever features a Lincoln will always be a nicer Ford.
1
Why not just spend less and buy a Mazda CX-3? The new Infiniti is hideous
1
For 32,000$ you can get a high end 2013 ford escape 2.0T ?
1
I'd much much much rather a Mazda CX-3, not sure who in the hell designed this 'toyota' but it's hideous, and it needs to be offered in a manual or conventional automatic at least on base trims. I've driven my fair share of CVT's (Nissan, Subaru etc) and they were all horrible compared to even my 15 year old Volvo.
1
the G90 also made it into the finale for car of the year on motortrend, I'd buy one over and S-class of A8 or 7-series anyway. It's gorgeous.
1
Aurora Jones why? More expensive, only slightly faster by a few tenths, poor fuel mileage, it's heavy and looks to ordinary. I'd say the S90 is far more advanced and better looking.
1
I bet our 1996 ford Taurus wagon could to that in a parking lot too. Nothing that impressive. There's like 5 centimetres of snow? Try living in ontario canada ...than try the Subaru .
1
Or instead of having something to alert you when opening your door you can just look back yourself. You could be the most clueless person ever and still be able to drive with all these useless safety stuff.
1
nickolas I had one for a rental recently too, for about a month.. overall it was OK. The interior build quality was horrible. The panel gaps were ridiculous, there was also some wear on the headliner by the sunroof, mine had the auto stop/start feature and it was awful... really jerky and never turned back on immediately.
1
$31,000 dollars lol. I could get a Kia Sportage EX AWD for the same price.
1
I've been driving a Grand Caravan a lot for my job (rental company) and I've averaged over 20 mpg with city and some highway driving, I like it a lot more then the new Toyota Seinna.
1
I still don't think it's as good as the Cruze, the Corolla was obviously slightly updated for 2017, but I had a Cruze for quite a while (2017) and I averaged 39 mpg and with cruise set to 55 mph on my way to work I averaged almost 50 mpg not even kidding, though I wouldn't mind test driving a new corolla .. it may surprise me.
1
I haven't driven the manual/turbo one yet, but I've driven the 2.0/auto and it's really nice. Once I pay off my 6 speed Accent I'd love a Turbo velsoter.
1
I was driving a 2017 for work (before the re-design) and was sitting at a red light wondering where the window switches were.. finally found them in the middle on the dash, lol.
1
Jesus, those shifters are not hard to use, you guys are just stupid.
1
I should be buying a 2013 L sedan manual, I'm pretty excited, it has heated seats, power accessories, AUX, cruise control all on a base model.. impressive.
1
I totally disagree about the Wrangler, I've done a few highway drives in them for work and it's plenty comfortable, the fuel mileage isn't that bad with the new 8 speed automatic, I averaged 20 mpg in mine which is totally fine, I say the only downsides are it's a pain to wash and the cabin lets in a lot of wind noise.
1
B-Wulf I also work for enterprise rent a car and unfortunately at the location where I work we rarely ever get luxury cars in, I have driven the GLA250's and the C300's which are both nice.. but my favourite vehicle to drive at work is the Durango R/T ... I just love the V8 sound, the responsive paddle shifters and the nice interior.
