Dan, many years ago, when National Insurance did what it said on the can, it was a very small tax that nobody really minded paying. But over the years it has become perverted and corrupted, out of all recognition, from its original purpose: and grown massively, like a malignant cancer. An honest government would have simplified the tax system years ago by amalgamating N.I. into income tax and corporation tax. But when was the last time we had an honest government? It's much easier to con and cheat people with a more complicated tax system. Dan while you and I remember that coming out of lockdown was supposed to be IRREVOCABLE (I wonder who said that), don't expect most of the bleating sheep to make much of a fuss. When kids had their hard earned exams stolen from them twice, when they had their education and mental health buggered to hell by school closures, parents stood by and did nothing. The British people are no longer willing to make a stand for their rights. If it were 1939 again today's Brits would roll out the red carpet for Hitler and polish his soldiers jack boots!
