  1. Think of the kind of person who decides whether you are worthy to see your GP. A very poorly educated receptionist who barely scrapped a few GCSEs.

  2. Exactly. Years ago I would arrive at a doctors and sit in the waiting room. Whenever some brainless receptionist suggested I made an appointment I would say that next time I'd also make an appointment for when I became sick.

  3. If GPs didn't have to do the work of shrinks, and deal with nut jobs, their burden would be significantly reduced.

  4. Of course it doesn't help when A&E departments are shut down. Chase Farm Hospital in Enfield is halfway between the North Middlesex Hospital and Barnet Hospital, and used to have a very busy A&E. This was shut down and now the A&E in the other two hospitals are massively overburdened!

  5. ​ @tiggywinkle20  But how many of them are truly mentally ill, and not just lacking good character and backbone? Years ago most people would be deeply ashamed to claim mental illness, but today far too many wear it like a badge of honour.
