If, instead of piddling around with lots of pathetic 0.25% rate rises, the Bank of England had manned up and made a few rises of AT LEAST 0.5% then perhaps the message would have already got through, and the final rate would be lower. What's been done is like giving the patient only a quarter of the dose of his medicine, because he doesn't like the taste, and then wondering why it didn't work.
