Those on minimum wage get about 2.5 times as much as struggling OAPs, who are facing massive increases in their heating and food bills. So why is Sunak reneging on the "triple lock", which is only a couple of percent more than the amount that he has upped the minimum wage by? If the Tories wanted to cut down on the pension bill then perhaps they should have just let covid-19 kill off a lot more OAPs. It might have been a lot kinder than letting them struggle in destitution for a few more years.
