A major part of the problem is all MPs being tarred with the same brush. There are thoroughly decent and good MPs out there, who want nothing more than to serve their community. Unfortunately those most in the public eye are the cabinet, most of whom make the dodgiest second hand car salesman look like Mother Theresa. Boris and his cabinet are in the main responsible for the hostility that other MPs experience.

@alzheimer7629 Your "used against you" comment reminded me of being told many years ago that this was exactly what the whips in parliament did, in order to make members vote in accord with the party leader's agenda.
