Even an imbecile could have predicted this. Surely few idiots expected interest rates to remain at such absurdly low levels. And this was EASILY avoidable if the old rules about only lending 3 to 4 times income had been rigorously enforced. This would also have prevented house prices rising to unaffordable levels. Well, if people start being repossessed and/or throwing the keys back at lenders then maybe they will come back down to more realistic levels. Prepare to welcome back negative equity.
