I have taught in mixed, all-boys, and all-girls schools, so I am very well qualified to tell you exactly why girls do better. In general they are much nicer to their teachers, they pay attention to them, and they work harder. It really is that simple, but indulgent mothers don't want to believe this.

@vixendixon6943 All this kind of stuff is complete nonsense. Boys are just as good at memorising and girls are just as good at thinking creatively. It's paying attention and putting in the effort that makes the difference.

I've worked in what was considered to be a good all-boys school, where I was actually quite popular, but even so it could still be much like a zoo at times. As there were no girls there one could hardly say that the boys were ignored, or denigrated, in favour of them. You sound like a typical man. Always making excuses for your shortcomings instead of owning up to them, and trying to do something about them.

@matthewthomas690 You keep telling yourself all this, if it makes you feel better. Even with purely exam based subjects, which a lot are, girls are comfortably beating boys.

@ItsJustRyan89 You can't really be that naive. A teacher is far more likely to go the extra mile for nice students.
