  1. If most parents knew just how bad things were in most UK secondary schools they would realise that a few strikes will make bugger all difference to their children's education. Very few capable people want to teach in our truly awful UK schools.

  2. I've taught in New Zealand, Germany and Italy. Compared to these countries teaching in the UK really sucks.

  3. Good luck getting another job if you are on M6. Applications from such teachers often go straight in the bin, in favour of those on M1 or M2. Indeed M6 teachers are often hounded out of their jobs so that they can be replaced by someone cheaper.

  4. Actually that's exactly what the most capable people have been doing for decades. The quality of most UK teachers isn't particularly high. But parents don't want to hear this.

  7. ​ @razachaswills5076  Actually, you would be horrified at just how many teachers DON'T know their subject. But on the other side there is an abundance of bad students who expect learning to be effortless. Serious learning is NOT like watching a YouTube video and can take a lot of sustained effort.
