What the West failed to recognise was the abject cowardice of most Afghani men. If they had been prepared to fight for the future of their families, especially their wives, daughters and sisters, then the Taliban could never have made a comeback. This really is the brutal truth. Because of this cowardice good courageous British and American soldiers died for nothing, and an incredible amount of our taxes was squandered. What a contrast this makes with Ukraine where the people are prepared to fight against an evil empire that is vastly more powerful than the Taliban.
