  1. If it's a choice between losing the triple lock or increasing the retirement age then the latter is a no-brainer. There comes a stage when you can't go out to work, and having inflation eat away at a meagre pension really sucks, especially when your medical bills are going up: as waiting years for NHS treatment can totally screw you. Let's be very clear. The triple lock is not some form of exceptional generosity towards pensioners. It's about making sure that one of the meanest state pensions in the developed world doesn't get further devalued. Unlike other benefits, most old people have EARNED their state pension!
