  1. This was a bloody stupid idea right from the start. Years ago none other than Tony Blair suggested using a remote, bleak Scottish island to detain illegals on. This would have been so much cheaper, not vulnerable to legal challenge, and a serious deterrent. So why wasn't it done instead?
