You know which school leavers and graduates won't face this? Those who have taken useful STEM subjects, and maybe those who have managed to gain a decent fluency in other languages. If you take NODDY subjects then don't expect businesses and employers to be impressed with your qualifications.

That is so true. As a typical example, a few weeks before Christmas a mother brought her Y12 son along to me for tuition. He got upset when I told him that the teachers at his school typically predicted about two grades too high, and that the work they were setting him definitely wouldn't bring in the A grades he wanted. I then showed him exactly the work he needed to do. It was very clear that he didn't want to put in this very reasonable effort, and needless to say he is no longer with me.

STEM degrees from good ones probably still are, but even in these there is grade inflation. As for the rest, my thoughts are unsuitable for family viewing.

Ah, but good quality teachers cost a lot more, so most schools now seldom employ the older more expensive teachers who cost about 10 grand more. In fact, some schools even drive them out!
