  1. Well, first you have to tackle resentful teachers who won't tell students how much better a life so many tradesmen have compared to them. Secondly you need to fix the damage that's been done to FE colleges. About 30 years ago people working in them enjoyed the same holidays as schools and got similar pay. Now most are much worse off on both counts, so few decent tradesmen want to work in them and pass their skills on.
