  1. The problem is that if you are dyed-in-the-wool Labour then rather than try to improve the lot of some, especially it they are more deserving, it's better to drag everyone done into the gutter.

  3. Congratulations on actually bothering to find out what really goes on in so many state schools. Most parents deliberately avoid knowing, otherwise they would feel the need to do something about it, like you did. Years ago I wrote a little book on what goes on in state schools. The only people that seemed to buy it were teachers. Some commented that what I said was, sadly, spot on. Others, some of whom were managers, were completely outraged at me spilling the beans.

  4. There's plenty of envy, and cutting off your nose to spite your face, on this one. Whenever it's mentioned that putting private schools out of business will either greatly increase state education costs or lower standards even further, by increasing class sizes, the levelling down trolls get really upset. In fact, the very best way to improve education for everyone would be to encourage more into private education by giving a tax rebate on private school fees. This would mean smaller classes in the state sector.

  5. If instead of having flash cars, expensive holidays, and meals out, you saved a bit of money then Starmer wants to steal it from you! Many older folk keep a bit by in case they need dental treatment, or a life changing operation that they don't want to wait years for.
