Don't blame this on immigration. Blame it on lower standards and grade inflation, which has been going on for at least 40 years. When I took my French O-level we had to master TEN French tenses. Is this the case today? When I was studying A-level physics there was calculus in it, because this is often the best way to explain and understand certain topics. Today's attempts to explain certain things without calculus are truly awful. Others could no doubt add a lot more. To get good at something you have to be challenged and work hard. We no longer expect this of our kids.
