  1. If only we had had 0.5% rate rises, instead of piddling 0.25% rises, earlier then people might get the message. Which is: you demand higher wages, then your mortgages will go up even faster, and if companies put up their prices then the cost of their borrowing will rise even faster. Inflation must be stopped, because there are millions who aren't in a position to demand higher wages or put up prices and get left behind in even greater poverty.
