Let's be honest. If a rail strike doesn't seriously p*ss off most people then it's not having much of an effect and therefore not going to achieve the unions' goals. This is why nurses have been screwed for decades, because they are not prepared to make their strikes effective by letting people die. I'm not saying I agree with the rail strike, but the bottom line is that government relies on others having much more of a conscience than they do. And despite Worm Tongue's comments this really is down to the government, rather than their Vichy style companies.
