  2. An entertaining little diatribe Alex. How long did it take you get it off pat? I do have to agree with you though. Most degrees today are Noddy degrees, though that's probably very insulting to Noddy. Even the decent ones have been seriously dumbed down, with lots of airy fairy stuff for those who can't hack the real meat of their subject. But even in my day, 40 years ago, and at a highly prestigious university, you could often spot the students doing crap degrees. They usually had every afternoon free, to spend in the bar, while we were in the chemistry and physics labs.
