Until the license is abolished, and the BBC has to compete independently, like every other channel, most of us will continue to believe that it is nothing more than a mouthpiece for its paymasters in Downing Street. During this pandemic it has certainly proved this with its vigorous censorship on anything that might make the government uncomfortable, and its highly selective interviews that were designed to give a false impression of strong support of government policies.
