  1. Nigel is so right about the West being perceived as weak, and this encouraging aggression from the world's dictators. The way the Houthis are being handled is a typical example. It's even been stated that there is no intent to destroy their military capability. The UK and US lost credibility when they didn't launch massive strikes, without the endless warnings, after the very first attack on shipping. But on negotiating with Putin, Nigel has forgotten his history. Such negotiations would be as futile as Chamberlain's 1938 Munich negotiations with Hitler. Yes, the war in Ukraine will cost many more lives, but if Putin isn't driven out (including Crimea) then ultimately far more lives will be lost.
