  1. The sole justification for The Coronavirus Act is the need for very rapid action that cannot wait to be put to a vote in parliament. With most people now vaccinated, there is no longer the urgency that makes short-cutting the democratic parliamentary process necessary. Therefore the government shouldn't even be asking for an extension, and any MP who believes in democracy should vote against it.
