To think, if Boris hadn't surrendered to what Thatcher would have called the "Wets", he would still be in power, the economy would be in much better shape, and so would the Conservative party. Having insane lockdowns and restrictions was the biggest mistake of his political career. He should have followed Sweden's sterling example. Sars-cov-2 only ever threatened a small fraction of 1% of the population. Most of those reported as having died from it most assuredly DIDN'T. The ones who did were overwhelmingly very old and/or very sick, and most would have died soon anyway. Also, only enough experimental vaccine should have been bought for 5% of the population at the very most, because the vast majority didn't need it.
