  1. It's generally accepted that those on minimum wage struggle. Yet the state pension is about half that of someone on minimum wage working a standard 40 hours a week. Britain's treatment of its pensions is among the meanest in the developed world. And most pensioners have paid their taxes towards a state pension for over 45 years. There's absolutely nothing extravagant or generous about the triple lock.
