  1. In this Sodom and Gomorrah that the UK has become it's nice to know that there are still some people with integrity left. I only tutor privately these days, as schools don't want people like me. Maybe it's because I would have refused to "teach" online and insisted on keeping my classroom open, with no bloody masks or other restrictions. Sadly, most teachers aren't like me.

  3. Actually the insane lockdowns and restrictions provided very strong evolutionary pressure that favoured strains like the Delta variant. Without this massive leg up from our politicians Delta would almost certainly not have been able to compete against the less infectious variants, and would not have become dominant. Of course, what everything is pointing to is that the advice, given very early on to governments, and later published in the Great Barrington Declaration, should have been followed, and would have worked spectacularly well.

  9. You missed the other bad news. While the JCVI has suffered an outbreak of common sense, Downing Street have definitely not suffered a sudden attack of decency and integrity. Despite the JCVI ruling they are still determined to go after the UK's children. What's even more disturbing is that last night's 6pm BBC news managed to turn up some really evil parents who were virtually gagging for the chance to vaccinate their kids. Equally disturbing is a report in TES saying that headteachers are disappointed by this ruling. I wonder how many parents are still deluded enough to believe that most teachers give a damn about their students?
