Let's stop lying about masks. Proper surgical ones do provide some protection, but some very good recent research has clearly shown that most masks are about as much use as a condom with a hole in it. Masks are purely a propaganda exercise. Their real purpose is to scare people into reducing their social contacts. As for lockdowns. With the furlough scheme, most people were far too stupid to appreciate that "there is no such thing as a free lunch" and that they would eventually pay big time. But without a furlough scheme even the stupid will start to squeal if another lockdown is imposed.
