  1. Why would most people feel patriotic about a country that the vast majority feel doesn't give a toss about them? Even though I have a fairly comfortable life I am in absolutely no doubt that this country is run exclusively for the benefit of the rich and the powerful. If the rest of us are thrown a few crumbs then it is purely out of the bothersome and inconvenient necessity of keeping the plebs from getting too agitated.
