Perhaps, once again, we need to look to Sweden, and instead consider how that money might be better spent so that many people feel much less inclined to commit crimes that merit incarceration. Also, how many people genuinely need to be locked up? I wonder if rich Rishi realises that many involved in drug related crime actually do it to put food on the table for their families, and that others do it because they honestly can't see any decent future for themselves. Hard on crime sounds good, but if you "listen to the science" you soon understand that it simply doesn't work.
