  1. The very name of this tax tells you what it should have been spent on. However both parties have embezzled it for decades. Why should pensioners, who have worked hard all their lives, suffer for this embezzlement?

  3. Ireland is much poorer than the UK. However over there old people don't have to pay for a TV license and they get to travel free THROUGHOUT the country: not just in their local town.

  4. Let's look at the FACTS. Someone eking out a living on just the state pension gets only about half of what someone working fulltime on minimum wage earns, and about one third of the median wage. Most people don't like being told the TRUTH, that the UK state pension is one of the meanest among the most developed countries. Why then is the "triple lock", which just stops a shameful state of affairs from getting worse, such a big deal? Most of those trying to survive on the state pension worked hard, and paid taxes, all their lives. Many worked a lot harder than most people do today.
