  1. People might be much more inclined to forgo their meat if the vegie alternatives weren't more expensive, when they should be considerably cheaper. When the food producers stop trying to rip people off then a lot more will cut down on the meat. Try appealing to the wallet rather than people's conscience, because as things stand buying that more expensive vegie product makes sensible people feel like complete schmucks.
