Perhaps what's really needed is a very strict prescription of what can be taught in schools. On the one hand we don't want kids being taught that all the various kinds of perversions should be embraced and aspired to. But equally well we mustn't let some sick parents get away with indoctrinating their kids with "values" that a Puritan living a few centuries ago would have promoted.
