  2. No! Not "pay the whole whole wack back", pay the money up front themselves (or their parents), otherwise the taxpayers' money will never be repaid. For the good of both the country, and these misguided young people, these totally worthless degrees need to go ASAP. If there is any merit in them they will survive without ANY help from the public purse. As for "uneducated", having a Noddy degree most certainly doesn't make you educated. As a chemistry/physics undergraduate, nearly 50 years ago, at Kings College London, I remember chuckling over a piece of toilet graffiti. Above the toilet roll somebody had written: "Sociology degrees, please take one".
