  1. But most of us, if allowed to vote on it wouldn't go along with the government's harebrained Rwanda scheme, so democracy is being protected: from a government that is completely out of touch with the majority of people in this country.

  2. The Lords did the country a massive favour, because the Rwanda treaty is a useless black hole down which the taxpayers money is being thrown for absolutely no benefit. Years ago, even human rights lawyer Tony Blair suggested using remote Scottish islands to house illegals. This has the merit of being a lot cheaper, much harder to challenge legally, AND a damn good deterrent.
