Only someone who is a scientific ignoramus wouldn't want to see imperial measurements disappear forever. It's a bit like the introduction of Arabic numerals to medieval Europe. Just try working with the Roman numerals that they replaced! Often others do things a lot better than the British. Being grown up is about accepting this and adopting better practices.

@gxhall That was in the Far East. If I remember correctly, in Europe they used large calculating tables to handle Roman Numerals, and it was quite a palaver, gave job security to some, until Fibonacci (I think) introduced Arabic numerals.

@nickmiller76 So true. This is also the reason why governments have been able to manipulate and con people so effectively in their response to the covid-19 pandemic.
