  1. There are an awful lot of firms who have it written into the contract that their employees cannot have second jobs, because the energy required to pursue them detracts from their first job. It's a conflict of interest! MP's are paid bloody well, especially when expenses are taken into account, so they should not be allowed to have second jobs.
