  1. While some people do enter politics in order to serve and make the world a better place, there are plenty whose aspirations are far less noble. One only has to look at those in Downing Street to realise that wealth and power are what attracts many. I'd be very nervous about staking my life on a single cabinet minister having service to his/her fellow citizens as their main motivation.
