The way young people have been treated for the last 15 months has been selfish and cowardly. The risk to young people is negligible, and that posed to most of those who teach them is really very small. Schools and universities should have carried on as normal, and exams should never have been cancelled. Parents who have been fobbed off with online "learning" might like to reflect on what Katharine Birbalsingh, head of the Michaela Community School, is on record as saying: "there is no such thing as good online learning". Any decent, honest teacher will say the same.
