  1. While I doubt that it had anything to do with Amess's murder, politics in this country has been very badly tarnished by the government's handling of covid-19. People have seen their freedoms and liberties seriously violated. They have seen the government propaganda machine lying through it's teeth, and suppressing all news that showed people not supporting it's measures, or that would cause them to question them. And the vast majority of MPs have wholeheartedly supported Downing Street in this. Is it therefore any wonder that trust and empathy for politicians is at an all time low?
