I'm willing to bet that if those who gratuitously stab and shot others, and other very violent criminals, were taken out and publicly shoot, with it being televised, then we would quickly see a reduction in crime. There's a very famous picture of a "neck tie" party in gold rush San Francisco. After this the crime rate DID drop massively!
