Putin please note. This is what one calls a "special military operation".
1800
There's now a joke that Russia's best anti-tank weapon is Olaf Scholz.

One of the most interesting pieces of news in a long time. Very well done NASA!
424
I hope Omicron wins this race by a massive margin. Being EXTREMELY MILD it offers the very real prospect of SAFELY bringing this pandemic to an end.
371
I've been looking forward to this happening for months. Not only is the Kerch bridge important militarily but it's a very high profile target deep in occupied territory, that Putin has a particular pride in. This is going to cause him intense, and very public, humiliation. It's just unfortunate that even more damage hasn't been done to it, but I'm sure this will come in time.
358
One thing is certain. If Taiwan shows the slightest sign that it won't fight very hard to defend itself then Emperor Xi will most certainly invade.
325
Think of how things might have gone in 1930's Germany if Hitler had been removed from power. Because there are a lot of parallels with Russia and Putin today.
307
The simple fact is that the Taliban would not be in power if most Afghan men didn't share their appalling views on women. Most Afghan men abroad have exactly the same views. This has been proved repeatedly in different countries as far afield as New Zealand.

Russian MoD Film Studios are also very good at churning out tons of fake videos, with actors always in spotless uniforms and very clean equipment. But by far my favourite was them shooting some shells from a wood in winter, and showing them land in a field in summer.
246
The attack on the Ukraine band's home down, purely out of spite, and for no military reason, is something straight out of the Nazi's handbook. Once again this emphasizes how incredibly important it is to deny Russia any kind of victory in Ukraine.
238
Perhaps these women, and their husbands, should have thought much earlier about the unjustified invasion of Ukraine?
229
The comment at the end about being "politically and diplomatically sensible not to dig too deep" says it all. Too many governments are afraid of upsetting Emperor Xi!
226
Six children, and another on the way. Sorry, but one has to take responsibility and live within ones means. Part of this is NOT breeding like a bloody rabbit when you can't afford to!
217
That was a damn good attack. If only Ukraine could launch a lot more like this VERY REGULARLY, with some of them on Moscow.
192
I really don't think anyone is in the least surprised by these stories, and these soldiers were unbelievably naive if they didn't think something like this would happen to them. For sometime now the Ukrainians have had a well-manned 24-7 hotline to help Russian soldiers surrender. They should make much better use of it.
191
Judging by the relatively little damage done, one suspects that these drones were very small and launched close to or even within Moscow. There's a good chance that they were launched by Russian and maybe even Putin's own FSB in order to bolster his support.
183
Isn't it funny how this guy had such a change of heart after being imprisoned for a few days. No doubt it's the result of all the loving care shown him by the prison guards.
169
Lebanon's PM might like to ask himself how things would be going if the country hadn't provided safe haven to Hezbollah. When Lebanon was a Christian country not only was it safe, it was a highly desirable playground for the world's super rich!
165
So let me get this right. This walrus hadn't hurt anyone, but was needlessly murdered just to insure that nothing happened to some cretin that didn't take advice not to get too close.
160
Whenever Putin makes a claim it's usually wise to assume that the exact opposite is true.
159
This possibility also makes it a very good time for those regions that want out of the Russian federation (or should that be empire) to make a bid for freedom. With so many Russian troops killed, and Russia so bogged down in the Ukraine there has never been a better time to make a bid for freedom. Such a good opportunity may not come again. Once one region declares independence others will follow in very short order. Oppressed Belarussians might also note that Putin is no longer in a position to send help to prop up their Fat Dictator.
147
I doubt if most people even understand the concept of positive feed back. As the ice disappears less radiation is reflected back into space and the heating gets ever faster. As well as the Antarctic the glaciers in the Himalayas are rapidly disappearing. Do people even stop to think of what this will do to the Indian subcontinent? And where do they think the billion or so people will go, because they certainly won't just sit around and wait to die.
133
Looking at these pictures, which are repeated in 1000s of places in Ukraine, people should be able to understand why Russian soldiers are referred to as Orcs. This is why no deal must ever be made with Putin, and the Crimea must also be taken back.
127
Hitler dealt with rivals in exactly the same way.
114
So, let me get this right. Russia can level Ukrainian cites, but its not OK for Ukrainian to launch a single missile against a military target in one of its cities. Putin is like the school bully who kicks the shit out of the little kids and steals their dinner money. But as soon as one of them lands a single punch the bully runs crying to the teacher.
112
I bet those rockets get there well before the weapons Germany promised ages ago. In fact most of us now believe that Germany will never deliver.
111
I wouldn't be surprised if Trump was now sharing intelligence with his best buddy Putin.
107
In the last 24 hours Ukraine has destroyed some significant military supply routes. Am I being too cynical in wondering whether Putin is hoping that Ukraine will give him the opportunity to repair them without coming under attack?
102
A very well executed operation that Ukraine can be extremely proud of. Isn't it funny how, just like that sunken flagship, the cause was stored ammo exploding. Talk of Russia having a one trick pony when it comes to inventing explanations. Now, what about taking out those Crimea bridges that are so dear to Putin?
100
Very well done Ukraine. Keep up the great work!
99
As I've just said elsewhere, there are Russian ships heavily bombarding Ukrainian cities. Jets that can take these out are most certainly defensive, and desperately needed.
99
It's not called "sabotage". It's called getting your arse kicked by the enemy! And there's going to be a lot more to come.
94
The trouble is that often it's not what women want. It's what the cavemen in the family MAKE them wear.
90
Isn't it funny how Russia is getting so upset over an attack that it says only inflicted minor damage? When the TRUTH eventually comes out I expect that, once again, we will discover that Ukraine has given Russia a massive, and very humiliating, arse kicking.
85
One can't help feeling that those who went to enjoy the spectacle of animals being tortured to death deserve what they got.
82
Where are these missiles being launched from? Because we need to VERY QUICKLY give Ukraine the means to take these missile bases out, no matter how far inside Russia they are!
82
Same kind of thing happens in places like Rochdale, but our police turn a blind eye to them.
81
Millions of people, like me, find it impossible to understand why big, rich, powerful China can't just leave Taiwan alone. They don't need the island, and it poses no threat to them.
80
If Europe had any sense they would have been preparing to do without Russian gas since February. For instance, Germany should have been working manically on restarting all its nuclear power stations.
76
Keep up the great work Ukraine. There are lots more Russian airports and planes just begging to be hit. What about the airports in Moscow and St. Petersburg?
75
Comment removed for calling a terrorist a rabid dog.
71
A rain forest (formally) the size of the Amazon creates its own climate, through the incredible amount of transpiration. So this drought is most likely due to the insane amount of deforestation, and might even become the norm and eventually turn the amazon into a desert!
71
Having a Polish father, I can tell you that the Poles have a long memory when it comes to Russia. My father spent two years in a Russian Labour camp after being caught crossing from German occupied Poland to Russian occupied Poland. God only knows how long he would have been there if Germany hadn't turned on Russia. He then had the choice of fighting with the Russians or the British. On choosing the British the Russian officer tried to intimidate him into choosing them, but luckily the British officer supported his right to choose. You don't stop a bully by placating him. You have to be strong enough to give him a bloody nose!
70
When I lived in Westend, Tegel was much more convenient for me than Schönefeld. An awful lot of Berliners are going to really miss that airport.
69
I too blame Ukraine for sending those poor innocent drones to their death.
67
Funny how Putin isn't backing up Macron's claim. Macron, tu es un menteur!
66
Instead of worrying about Taiwan, Xi ought to fix this SHAMEFUL situation.
65
Spain has a right to defend its territory against invasion!
63
This country is perfect for guerilla warfare. There's no reason why each resistance fighter shouldn't be able to kill scores of rabid Taliban dogs, over a period, if they pick their battles carefully.
62
In the UK he would have just got a deradicalisation course.
